Year 6

Dear Y6,

Your final year of Primary School is coming to an end.  It has been lovely to share the final four weeks with those of you who were able to come into school.  We think of you all at this time as you prepare to move onto the next stage of your education... starting High School.  You have been a fabulous class to teach and to know.  We wish you well and will be thinking of you in September as you continue your journey.

Love from Mrs Whittle, Mrs Naeem & Mrs Abbott xx

A message from Mr. Elder: I am sorry that I couldn't join you to celebrate the end of your time at Holy Trinity.  This year hasn't been the one any of us expected.  You may feel disappointed that you have missed out on some of the special end of year events but you can be very proud of what you achieved at Holy Trinity.  I am very proud of you and know that you would have done a wonderful job if you'd got a chance to do your SATs.  As you move on to high school, be proud of what you achieved and look forward with enthusiasm to what you will go on to do in the coming years.  I hope you enjoyed your leavers' assembly and I wish you and your families the very best for the future.

THE RETURN OF SOME OF OUR Y6 CHILDREN TO HOLY TRINITY

On Wednesday 17th June, we welcomed 10 of our Y6 pupils back into Holy Trinity.  It was so wonderful to see them again.  We have shared our experiences of lockdown and the different emotions we have felt.  We have been split, according to government guidelines, into 2 bubbles: Jaguars and Crocodiles.  We are enjoying a variety of learning tasks and being creative in our use of playtimes, ensuring that at all times we are 2m apart.  Myself and Mr Hutchinson have been very impressed with how carefully the children have been following the new guidelines.

Move on 4 weeks and we now have 14 of our Y6 children in school.  We are approaching the end of our time together at Holy Trinity.  In the last couple of days we  enjoy having fun together...

THE DERBY HIGH SCHOOL

Important information for parents from The Derby High School:

  • We are very keen to get all the parents/carers signed on to our parent APP because we use this for communication between home and school. It has become even more important during these unusual times.
  • We have a transition section on the website and it contains information on how to sign up to the parent APP. http://thederbyhighschool.co.uk/transition/
  • A small number of children will be invited to a transition meeting at The Derby in w/c 29th June.
  • We are phoning all the parents/carers to introduce ourselves.
  • We will run a Transition Q&A Zoom for parents/carers on Thursday 2nd July – details will be sent to parents using the email address they have provided.  Please send an email if you have not done this already, or you will miss out on this Zoom session.
