Hello children,

This is the last week of a very strange term.

Thank you to all of you who have sent in work via email. This week's homework focuses on fractions and maths. Please complete all activities on Purple Mash.

We miss you and look forward to seeing you all in September.

Miss Entwistle and Ms Ali xx

Hello children,

We hope you are all well. This week's home-learning is all about capacity. This means how much a container can hold.

Please log on to Purple Mash to complete your tasks.

We hope to see more of you soon.

Year 2 homelearning this week

Hello children,

Where has the sunshine gone?! I can't stand this rain. Ms Ali and I talk regularly on the phone and are still missing you all! We have been wondering which of you have grown taller or if any of you have had wobbly teeth during lockdown!

Thank you to those of you who have been completing Purple Mash tasks and emailing us your home-learning. If you scroll down you will be able to see pictures you have sent in.

We are now in week 15 of school closure. Below you will find your homework grid for this week; it is all about telling the time. By the end of Year 2 the expectations for telling time are as follows:

  • To compare and sequence intervals of time.

  • To tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past/to the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times.

  • To know the number of minutes in an hour and the number of hours in a day.

Take care and we hope to see you soon,
Miss Entwistle and Ms Ali x

To keep you busy, Ms Aslam has created a Virtual Sports Day which you will be able to see on the home learning homepage. Please do join in and send pictures or videos of you completing the different tasks.

Thank you to those of you who have been completing Purple Mash tasks and emailing us your home-learning. If you scroll down you will be able to see the photographs children have sent in.

We are now in week 14 of school closure. Below you will find your homework grid for this week.

Hi everyone. We hope you are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine again. Thank you to those of you who have been completing Purple Mash tasks and emailing us your homelearning. If you scroll down you will be able to see the photographs children have sent in.

We are now in week 13 of school closure. Below you will find your homework grid for this week.

Please remember, practising spellings and reading should still be something you do daily. We have put the Year 1 and 2 common exception words near the top of our homelearning page so you will remember to practise them.

Take care and keep safe,

Miss Entwistle and Ms Ali x

2D shape mat

2D shapes - Do all hexagons always look the same? What about triangles?

Below is a copy of the Year 1 and 2 common exception words - these are words that are not easily decodable using phonics. Children should learn to read these by sight and also spell them correctly.

We would recommend focusing on 5 to 10 words each week. Practise can be done in a variety of ways - e.g. using coloured pencils or a spelling quiz or use the grid below for more ideas.

Year 2 homelearning - what have the children been up to?
