Welcome back children! (March 2021)
Hello children and parents of Nursery!
We are so delighted to be able to open school for all of our Holy Trinity family. It will bring us great joy to see you on Monday 8th March, bright and early! The teachers have already been busy preparing for the 4 weeks of school which will take us up to the Easter holidays.
Although we will be back together again, some things in school will remain slightly different as we all get used to being together again in the classrooms.
There will be a heavy focus on our Prime Areas of Learning these being Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. We will provide lots of opportunities to talk. It is so important that we discuss our feelings, the changes we have faced and support the school community as it comes back together.
Over the first week we will be aiming to build up the children's stamina for learning, beginning with lots of opportunities to learn through play. We will reintroduce our school values; Love, Trust, Respect, Thanksgiving and Friendship and create some beautiful art and craft responses to each of these.
To recapture the children's interest in learning, we will also be providing lots of play based activities which will capture imagination, develop creative thinking and offer opportunities to explore and discover.
Getting back to formal full week learning will be difficult for us all after this period of lockdown. But as we always do at Holy Trinity, we will work together and succeed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff.
Thank you.
Hello to parents and children of Nursery! (January 2021)
Due to Covid19, school is currently closed to most children. However, your teachers are still available to teach and support you.
Ms Aslam teaches Monday and Tuesday and Miss Abowath teaches Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Mrs Foulks, Mr Mahmood and the class teachers support the children within class.
It has been such a strange start to 2021 for us all. However, during this lockdown, learning must continue. Class teachers are setting remote learning daily via your child's class page on ClassDojo.
Please head over to our Home Learning tab to learn more, or log straight onto Class Dojo to see which lessons await
We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas break. This term the Nursery page will provide you with all the information you need. Please read the newsletter for Spring 1 to see what the children will be learning after the Christmas break. You can visit the home learning page for weekly homework activities. The snapshot for learning page on the website consists of pictures and videos that reflects the children's learning in the classroom. If you have any questions speak to Mrs Aslam or Miss Abowath at the gates. Thank you for your continued support.
We hope you had a restful half term holiday! This half term on the website you will find an Autumn newsletter that informs you about our topics and learning content for the term. Soon we will be posting pictures of all the fun activities and play based learning that have gone on in our classroom. Our main aim during nursery, in the first few weeks, is to ensure that each and every child feels safe, settled and secure whilst developing positive relationships and bonds with other children and adults.
We understand that this year's start to nursery will be very different. But there are things you can do to prepare your child.
Things to Remember:
Spare Clothes
Please bring in a set of spare clothes (top, bottoms, underwear, socks) in a labelled bag. If your child is not toilet trained please make sure you send in some nappies and wipes too.
PE
There are 2 PE sessions with a coach in Nursery.
This term we are focussing on DANCE.
If your child comes to nursery in the MORNING the PE session is on a MONDAY.
If your child comes to nursery in the AFTERNOON the PE session is on a THURSDAY.
Either way please make sure your child comes to school in their PE Kit on the day of their session
( White T shirt, Black zipped top, black joggers, black trainers/pumps)
Water Bottle
Please make sure your child brings in a bottle of water to school. Remember to put your child's name on it.
Snack Money
Your child is provided with a healthy snack every day, we ask for a contribution of £1 a week. Thank you.
Start and Finish Times
Morning Children:
8.50am- 11.45am
Afternoon Children:
12.15pm-3.10pm
Please make sure your child comes to school on time and is picked up promptly. If you are going to be late please ensure you inform the school office.
If your child will not be coming to nursery please ring the school office in the morning.
It has been such a busy start to Autumn 1 and the children in Nursery have settled in so well. We have already started learning so much. Here are some links to songs and stories we have been enjoying so far.
Attached below is the Autumn 1 Newsletter for Nursery
We have read this story in class. We learnt about Neligan's farm animals and the sounds that they make. This story made us laugh!
This week we have been reading the book 'Room on the Broom.' The children have really enjoyed the story. We have painted pictures, made character masks, dressed up as the witch and looked at the animals going on the journey on the broomstick.
Take a look at our photos!
