Governor Information

Welcome to our Governors’ section. 

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

 

Meet the Governors of Holy Trinity

 

Since September 1st 2018 Holy Trinity has been part of the Roch Valley Church of England Multi Academy Trust. The documents below give more information about the governance of the school through the trust.

Although part of the Roch Valley Church of England Multi-Academy Trust, Holy Trinity still has a Local Governing Board.

 

Governing boards oversee the work of the school and make sure it provides a good quality education for its pupils.

 

Working in partnership with the head and other staff, governors are involved in:

 

  • setting the school’s aims and policies;
  • improving standards of teaching and achievement;
  • setting the school’s budget plan and monitoring expenditure;
  • interviewing and appointing teachers and support staff;
  • acting as a link between the church, the local community and the school;
  • dealing with complaints about the school;
  • drawing up an action plan after an inspection, and monitoring the success of the plan.There are 9 governors at our school – a term of office for our governors is 4 years.

 

Subject to clause 2.2, the composition of the Local Governing Body of Holy Trinity shall be as follows:

 

  • 2.4.1 - the head of the Academy (or the Trust Executive Leader if no such person in appointed);
  • 2.4.2 One Staff Governor– representing the staff of the school
  • 2.4.3 Two Parent Governors – representing the parental body of the school
  • 2.4.4 Up to five Foundation Governors – representing and celebrating our status as a faith school.
  • 2.4.5 Up to two co-opted governors
  •  In addition to this the Governing Body may appoint Associate Governors when and if it requires them. (none at present)
