The children began by sharing the book 'Room on a Broom' by Julia Donaldson and enjoyed writing their own version of the story.  They also enjoyed playing in the class spooky corner where they made spells and pretended to be witches and wizards!

In maths the children started the second phase of the White Rose Maths scheme called  'It's me 1,2,3!'. In this phase the children will be learning all about the numbers 1, 2 and 3. They will be making their own collections of 1, 2 and 3 objects, matching number names to quantities, counting up to three objects in different arrangements and using their own mark making to represent numbers 1, 2 and 3. Alongside their maths they will share many books including the traditional stories Three Bears, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Three Little Pigs.
